Brussels - Things to Do
|
Off to Brussels this weekend with the missus after picking up a blinding deal through work...
I've looked on the internet for things to do whilst there, but it all seems very boring.
Any of you CUNTS got any decent recommendations?
Cheers in advance!

The beer is STRONG. I felt wobbly after a couple of bottles.

Boring place with a pathetic statue - Manneken Pis , and not much to do apart from drinking strong beer .. There is also a red light district .... apparently

Yes its pretty boring and I'm currently working here.
Check out the Delirium cafe for goof belgian draught beer
http://deliriumcafe.be/
It's walking distance from the Grand Place and Mannekin Pis.
Then take in neaby museums and you've done it really.
Ask Brussels Sprouts for restaurent recommendations

I went there as part of a european tour in April and I was pleased that we were only there for one evening before hitting Bruges.
Very quiet city and even the most famous bar there (can't remember it's name) was a bit shit and not very busy on a Thursday night.
The square looked amazing in the evening though (I like a bit of sightseeing) and if you're a fan of a gallon on Nutela on a waffle for €2, then you'll love it!

If the missus wants to do some shopping then send her down Avenue Louise where my flat is. Just off there is Chatelain which has nice cafes and restaurants. It's where the rich french tax exiles live.
For a pub and footie check out the Michael Collins on Ave Louise. There's a Halloween party there on friday night.

Mannekin Pis must be the worst "most famous thing in a city" ever.
A statue of Neil Kinnock would have more appeal.

Food is excellent. Beer is brilliant. Decent shopping. Its about a million times more interesting than Brugges that gets boring very very quickly. Just out of interest. What is "interesting" to you?
